2009-2010 Honda VTX 1300C

2010 Honda VTX 1300C
The Honda VTX 1300C is a tough looking street rod that happens to come with Honda's superior performance and reliability. Not as massive as its big brother, the Honda VTX 1800, it nonetheless is menacing in a more quietly rebellious way, with low-slung good looks and plenty of cubic centimeters displacement that allow you to turn loose and enjoy the great performance and the ride.

The Honda VTX 1300C is a classically styled performance cruiser with both looks and brains. Its generous 1312cc V-twin gives a low rumble through the two-into-two mufflers, and when you put it in gear and take off, you know you're riding a tough-looking bike with street rod looks and features that will make everyone else on the block envious. You have your choice of four color schemes: dark blue metallic, metallic red, black, and titanium and the knowledge that since it's a Honda you'll get plenty of ride time without mechanical problems.

The engine is a 1312 cc liquid cooled 52o V-twin, with a single overhead cam valve train with three valves per cylinder. The transmission is a five-speed, and the brakes are single 336 mm disc brakes with twin-piston caliper (front) and single 296 mm disc brakes with single piston caliper (rear). The front suspension is a 41 mm fork with a luxurious 5.1 inches of travel. In the rear, you have dual shocks with five position spring preload adjustability, and 3.5 inches of travel.

With a wheelbase of 65.5 inches and a seat hight of 27.5 inches, the VTX 1300C has a curb weight of 678 lbs with standard equipment and a full gas tank. The gas tank holds 4.8 gallons, including a 1 gallon reserve.

Tricked out with street rod styling, the VTX 1300C has a tank-mounted chrome housing with a speedometer that uses an electronic transmission speed sensor. This means there's no front wheel-mounted speedometer cable. Chrome finishing also graces the cylinder-head covers, air box cover, valve inspection cover, clutch cover, left crankcase cover, and left rear engine cover. Minimalist front and back fenders work great with the street rod styling. The chrome-hooded headlight features a halogen bulb with a computer designed multi reflector for maximum visibility.

Honda has also made it so you can do all kinds of accessorizing, with custom windscreens, chrome light bars, leather saddle bags that can be studded, fringed, or plain, a leather touring bag (same options: studded, fringed, plain), or a leather tank belt with pocket, either studded or plain. A digital audio system and a cycle cover are other available accessories.

The Honda VTX1300C starts at $10,199.00. The touring version has a base MSRP of $11,499 and features a fairing, leather saddlebags that hold the equivalent of 24 liters, and a passenger back rest made of chrome. All models are powered by a 1,312 cc V-twin.
